Lower Milford Township Fall Festival
Saturday, September 25, 2010 from 10 am – 5 pm
A rural township celebrating community spirit on a beautiful fall day. What could be a better venue for our church for visibility and sharing information about our church family and its mission in God’s world? Now don’t be fearful. This is simply our talking to folks who stop by. The digital picture player will be the “come on,” and we’ll provide the hospitality and simple crafts for children. Can you spend an hour at our booth? A sign up sheet will be in the chapel. Mark your calendars for this fun day. Thanks.
Book Study September 27th
Anne Lamott is a wonderful Christian writer from California. She was a single mother struggling with her writing and an addiction when she became a Christian. She then wrote a wonderful book about her journey to Christ called Traveling Mercies. Pastor Susan will lead a discussion group on that book this September starting on Monday, the 27th from 1 – 2:30 pm. A sign up sheet will be in the Chapel.
Adult New Member Classes
Adult New Member Classes will begin in October. If you are interested in becoming a member of this church family, please call the church at 215-679-7710. We thank you for your interest and commitment to becoming a part of the life of Trinity (Great Swamp) Church.
Crop Walk Sunday, October 10th
The annual Quakertown Crop Walk will be held in Memorial Park on Sunday, October 10 at 1:00. We will use the same format with the contribution envelopes as we did last year.
Please note the following information:
- All checks are to be made out to Trinity Great Swamp U.C.C. Our church will cash all of the checks and write out one check for Church World Services. This will eliminate checks not being cashed in a timely fashion.
- Cash money will be counted and added to the church check.
- ALL walkers MUST turn in their whole envelope with their collected donations on (or before) the day of the CROP WALK. Pete and Joyce Weiss will collect these at the pavilion at 1:00. The WALK begins promptly at 1:30.
Joyce and Pete will be in the chapel to sign up walkers and take donations after each service beginning September 5. We hope these changes will ease some of the work for the treasurer and make it easier for our walkers. Thank you.
Pizza (Stromboli) and a Movie Night -October 16th
Saturday, October 16, 2010 - 5:00 - 8:00 p.m.
The Blind Side (PG-13)
The Blind Side is the story of Baltimore Ravens' right tackle Michael Oher. Based on the life of Oher prior to his college football career, it's really a tale of redemption, of a life that was snatched from a certain early death or prison, and given a place of privilege within a loving family that adopted him as one of their own. In this young man's story you see echoes of God's heart for His children, a story that, in the words of Sandra Bullock, "restores my faith in people of faith."
This blockbuster hit from last fall features Sandra Bullock, Tim McGraw, and Kathy Bates. Parents are encouraged to check reviews on www.christiancinema.com to decide if the DVD is appropriate for your children under the age of 12.
Your contributions of a salad or dessert are appreciated. Reservations are requested by signing up in the chapel by October 14th or call Janet Bonekemper (215-536-5777) by 10 a.m. on the day of the event. The format is that we have supper before the DVD.
